STRENGTH CAMP: CAN YOU DIG IT!

Remember Cyrus, the leader of the Riffs, standing on his platform, pulling a Charleston Heston and screaming CAAAAN YOOOUUUU DIGGGG IIIIIIT? That’s strength camp, my babies, the gathering of the Gangs this weekend, here at the Tribe. We’ve even got some brethren from New York coming, as well as the Alpha Co. Chico crew and a Bay Area contingent, among others. So what about you?

Two more looks into my workouts leading to my next competitions…

  • Chip you have too much time on your hands! (Jealousy). I am going to bite so many of those moves. Great video’s! Thanks for sharing them. Would love to make it down for the gathering of the tribes but will be headed up north with Breon for the next few weeks.

  • Time? Where? Notice I post only about twice a week? These things take forever to post, since I’m slow and have to squeeze them in between these pesky clients (I love you guys!). We’ll see you guys again soon enough!

  • Great videos! I think I could kill myself trying a number of things shown here…

  • ah- strength camp sounds amazing!
perhaps someday i’ll be able to hang with the big kids…
until then, looking forward to the videos and reports!

  • Once a month I contemplate moving to Sac. Living in Body tribe’s neighborhood. Then I have to remind myself why I live in Humboldt. As much as I would like to live close to the tribes gym. The city would get the best of me……

Won’t be around this weekends camp, but count me in on the next winter camp. Although I have to head to the east coast on Feb 12. So I’m praying camp is before that.

    drop in OH squats……
    roll out cleans…….
    can’t wait to try those.

  • I love these videos! I have to ask though, whose music do you use? I must have it!

  • Brian, I have an overstuffed iPod that ranges from Ethiopian pop to Bhangra dance to all shades of death metal. I like me some dark drum and bass as well, so on the What We Do, II video I used a Hive song (which samples a guitar riff from an old Bad Brains song throwing some really busy beats underneath). The Oly Lifts III is from a compilation, and the artist is That Subliminal Kid. Oly lift II’s main sing is from a band called Ugly Head.

  • The iPod also has “Hot Hot Heat” on it, but we don’t talk about that do we?

  • And a few select Prince tracks. But i think I finally took the Mars Volta off there, since it was sending some clients into seizures. Funny… Slayer doesn’t do that though.

  • And to think, I was just krumping to Slayer the other day……………..

  • Chip—–
Videos r off the hook. Hope all is well. Keep those utube videos rolling…….keeping all of us here n humboldt inspired. thanks dude!!
    Seth

  • Seth,

Hey, you’re the one with the hops, actually documented in that video. I got up there, but you got UP THERE.

  • It’s okay, I found Devo on my iPod the other day…*shudder*

  • What’s wrong with Devo? Not a damned thing, if you ask me.

Don’t think I’d want to lift to ‘em, however. For that, gimme some Lenny Dee!

  • DEVO! Freedom of choice and Gates of Steel are totally workout tunes. Even Mongoloid has some iron appeal. I want some Devo on my iPod!

  • Hrmm. I can see Mongoloid moreso than the others. Something about the tune. But none of ‘em for ME work. For the ME work, give me something blistering & frightening.

You ever heard the un-Eno-ed demo version of Mongoloid, featured on Hardcore Vol. 1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardcore_Devo:_Volume_One)? Way better, IMO, sans Eno’s production. Without him, they sound like what they were - a punk band.

  • Er, I meant “something about the TONE,” not “tune.” Seems kinda brooding. Brooding is good for lifting heavy objects.
