The wide, wide world of sports

How the daily workouts will be posted now is going to get a bit more in depth. It will take me a day or two to put this altogether, but we’ll have a collection of daily options. I’ll be posting bits of my training as I’m on a quest to not fall on my face during the Tommy Kono Open in August, in which I will joined by at least one other Triber (go almost-team Bodytribe!). I’ll also be outlining the path for our powerlifting team for our completely RAW meet in September. On top of this I will be posting a daily GPP combo for anyone who simply wants to add some kick-ass workload challenge into their existing workout. So many options for a varied, motley world.

Today was the beginning of two new rabbit holes I’m jumping into, both of which should bring adventures of great magnitude, sans any talking eggs or vindictive playing cards.

The first was the cooperative effort launched by Bodytribe and Devastation Co. to get a small handful of local fighters into super bitchin’ shape for upcoming bouts. We’ll be meeting at 6 am Tuesday and Thursday, and I’ll be documenting the workouts, and my concepts on fight conditioning, in upcoming blogs. I’m also writing an article about the glaring gaps that need filled in much of the MMA conditioning puzzle.

My second adventure is the collaborating I embarked on with Sacramento and Co.. I’m introducing two of their staff members to the physical subculture while documenting said introduction on air every Monday morning, as well as both their blog and mine. So meet Michelle…

Although she has a background in movement based endeavors, especially some lengthy bike rides, her previous gym experiences have been about as much fun as eating moldy paste (I’m paraphrasing, and maybe projecting a bit, but you get the idea). Free weights tend to be those scary things in the other room, but as of tonight we’ve begun the process of making friends with the iron. She’s going to surprise herself, because there be strength where she probably didn’t know it existed.

So look for the blogs in upcoming weeks to be a bit more substantial.  Meanwhile, thanks for reading.
