Workout:

Jerk press practice. Sets of 3, never heavier than 60% of max.

KB incline press with bands. 3 sets of 5-6. Featured in this video (at 30 seconds).

Static-explosive bench press/ explosive pushups. 10 second hold/6 presses/pushups until you fall on your face. 3 sets.
Barbell rollouts. 3 sets. 8-10 reps. Featured in this video (at 2 minutes)

Circus Freaks… a boy can dream.

So hurray for small victories. Yesterday I did my first planche pushup. ‘Twas my own personal minor victory over gravity, and I celebrated in my own quiet way. But then I saw this:

I can do that, I just don’t want to. (wait for it, the cool stuff is about 55 seconds into it… and doesn’t the singer sound like Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance?).

Bodytriber Greg has lent me the entire Cirque Du Soleil collection. Thanks, and up yours. Gotta keep me humble, don’t ya? I’ll still revel in my first, lone boring planche push up, but damn it if hanging from shit and speaking French doesn’t sometimes seem pretty flippin’ groovy.
