Pulls and stuff

Weighted Pullups/heavy deadlift: 3-5 reps/1 rep. make the pullups tough so 3-5 reps seems almost too much, then deadlift a bar around 85-90% of your one rep max. 6 sets.

Rack pulls (hand/thigh lifts)/high pulls. High rack pulls with over 125% of deadlift max (1 rep for a hold)/high pulls (either with a different bar ar with kettlebells, 6-8 reps). 4 sets.

Combo: Tire flip/sled tug/sandbag carry. 5-10 flips, depending on tire/2 lengths of rope for sled tugs/2 heavy sand bag carrys of at least 50 feet. 3 times.

Thankfully we have an old video of this workout here:

high pulls from pins with snatch grip, which is what you’ll see in the video.

  • We must have been thinking the same thing. I didn’t read the blog until this afternoon, but I did almost the exact same support work/combo last night on my own. Only I did 5-6 hand-and-thighs followed immediately by a dual 50lb sandbag carry, dropped the sandbags on the tire sled and dragged it 50 feet, then 10 tire flips…for four sets in all.

Funny, my everything don’t hurt so bad today. Must be that GPP kicking in.
