Meet results
Although I was a nervous wreck, worried about the shorter length of my training schedule and feeling a bit unsure of where I’d be compared to my last meet, I got my flow going and ended up with 9 white flags, 2 competition PR’s, one personal best, a state record and matching my previous meet total, which was over 4 years ago (which i didn’t think I was even going to get close to).
As a team, Andy took the best lifter trophy for the meet, Donna beat her previous records, Deane hit a PR in the deadlift, even at a lower weight class, Matt destroyed his last meet results and Al did her first bench meet and won her division. Nice lifting, folks, all raw!

I hit more depth in the meet than I usually do in training, nailing my goal of 325. Less than previous meets, but better than I expected.

Donna eventually nailed a 200 deadlift,

Deane beating his personal deadlift record with a 325.

Andy makes good faces. Don’t worry, he made this attempt with 570 pounds.

Al nails 125 and eventually hits 130, a bit over her bodyweight.

Beating my last state record of 410 with a solid 415 dead, the most I’ve done in over 3 years.

Congrats on everyone’s successes. And kudos for doing it all *raw.* It was damned fun to watch. I may have to see if I can scrounge up a singlet and join y’all next time…

Absolutely, and when you need a singlet, you can borrow Allyson’s. She needs it stretched out a little.

Okay, from the results post on the APA site, I see that the next local meet is slated for March? Oy… If I can figure out how to train for a meet in that time-frame w/o inherently sabotaging my training for a Shasta attempt in May/June, I think I’ll do it.
