Big thick rope

Hey, my book’s out, my cats are cute and we’ve got a big thick climbing rope. Does life get better?

Aloha, part II

Today’s workout was a bunch of hiking and swimming.  The swimming was in pools under waterfalls, ad the hiking was to these waterfalls trhough bamboo forrests.
Sucks, don’t it?
tonight I check out some local gyms to see if they’re worth it.

Aloha!

I’m in Maui.  We’re undecided if hitting the local Gold’s is worth it ($75 for a week pass?  C’mon!).  But after our major hike-and-swim expedition today, maybe we’ll do a poolside joint mobility/speed workout.  What I’d give for a heavy kettlebell right now.

Trainer Camilo brought this workout to our mix today.
Power cleans.  Sets: 5,5,3,3,1 working up to something close to your max.
That weight and bar will now be used for the following exercises:
Squats.
Jerk Press
Bent rows

Birthday Workout

It goes a little like this:
(after considerable joint mobility drills and light weight warm ups)
deadlifts/snatch grip low pulls from pins/squat rows/pullups
(heavy, near max) 1rep/5 reps/ 5 reps/ 5 reps respectively.
repeat as many times as possible for 20 minutes, keep the weight heavy!
