Goodbye Altman
If anyone has ideas of how to correlate an Altman film with a Bodytribe workout, let me know. My first thought was calling it the Suicide is Painless Challenge, but you never know who you’ll piss off in this day and age.
So, at the end of today’s workout, we’ll have the Player Challenge. But first:
It’s a good day to push. Set up the bar in the squat cage on the pins for an intense overhead squat from pins workout. Go heavy. Do many sets. But, unlike our recent jerk press challenges, you will avoid using extra movement for help. A solid, locked body (no leaning back, old school Olympic style). Just lock those ribs to the hips, squeeze that tush, and send the bar up.
So, Standing overhead Press from pins, either many sets of triples or brave some heavy singles in there as well.
Then, bench press. 4 sets of 4-6 reps. Make ‘em as heavy as you can for these reps.
Then the Player Challenge.
The opening scene in The Player is famous due to it being something like 8 minutes long without a camera break. This is pretty fantastic considering that the scene moves from inside to outside a building and around several areas of activity.
So let’s make a non-stop action combo to pay tribute to the recently departed Altman.
Sandbag thrusts (15)/burpees (10)/club swipes (15 per arm)/band twists (10 per side). Nonstop for 10 minutes. See how many rounds you can do.
