Shut up and Lift It

I received this email from our buddy Krista at www.stumptuous.com:
I know you’re always looking for little challenges so here’s one I just invented. I call it The Gauntlet.
You can call it whatever you like: 45 Pickup, Arms O’ Jello, etc.
Get 3 plates: 45, 35, and 25. Start with the 45. Lay it on the floor. […]

Love them hips

Max out on squats from pins (make ‘em low)
Good mornings for reps
Big combo: one-arm snatches (KB’s preferably)/farmer’s walk/club rockets/farmer’s walk/band wood chops/farmer’s walk/band twists/farmer’s walk
Or something like that.  Replace anything you don’t know, but keep sticking the farmer’s walk between any choice you make.  We went fairly light for the walk, but played with grip, […]

Push Pull challenge II

The name for this combo is “gettin’ stupid,” because it is simply the result of ridiculous experimentation.  Try it…
KB incline press with bands/kb bent rows with bands (see below): go for heavy reps and match the row with the press. 4 sets, with bonus sets for trying heavier weight.
Strap pushups/pullups:  like with rings, but we’re […]

Hip combo and kitties

So we’re rerunning the Hip combo from last week, trying to beat our squat max.  Look down to Oct 2nd for combo.
Meanwhile, our other challenge today is to find homes for these guys:

Meet Woo Shoo, Mai Tai, Won Ton and Bob.

Through a series of events, these little guys are homeless.  Between 4-6 weeks, very playful, […]

The Why-We-Don’t-Have-Treadmills combo

Dan John inspired this one, and Tribe member Brent popularized it within Bodytribe.
Basic: 400 meter run, KB swing for 15 reps (easier) or 20 reps (harder). 4 rounds for time.
Bonus versions: add pullups, burpees or just pushups.
400 meters at Bodytribe starts at the back of the gym, through the front door and around half the […]
